WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course teaches you about the benefits and usage of Helium gas for recreational divers.

WHO IS IT FOR?

If you plan to dive in more demanding places or projects, (i.e deeper, colder, more complicated divers, strong currents, etc) using helium maintain high mental focus and reduces the gas narcosis, which will make you and your team safer and more comfortable. Tt is a great way to train you for deeper dive by introducing and practicing ascent protocols.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • Skill cultivation and refinement, familiarity with the theory and practice of decompression, correct ascent procedures and practice

  • the use of Helium to minimize narcosis, CO2 & gas density

Prerequistes:

Applicants for a GUE Triox Primer program must:

  • Be a minimum of 16 years of age.

  • Be physically and mentally fit.

  • Be a non-smoker.

  • Be able to swim.

  • Obtain a physician’s prior written authorization for use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any medical condition that may pose a risk while diving.

  • Have passed the GUE Recreational Diver 1 course or a GUE Fundamentals course at the “recreational” level.

  • Have completed at least 25 non-training dives.

Instructor fees:

  • 850 AED per student per day

Terms:

  • The registration fee has to be paid to GUE from GUE’s website directly. Please note that this fee is not included in the price above.

  • Participants must confirm their booking by transferring 50% of the Instructor fees at least 4 weeks prior to the class start date. The remaining 50% must be paid at least 1 week in advance of the class start date.

  • The operator expenses must be paid to the operator directly on the day of the course

  • All payments are non-refundable.

  • The class must run with a minimum of 2 students

  • The price is exclusive of the diving expenses, students will have to pay those fees directly to the dive operator.

  • Instructor's diving, gas and travel expenses to be shared equally by all students.

  • Here are some of the expenses that you need to be aware of:

    • Helium gas fills price are not included and must be paid separately, currently the Helium price is 0.3 AED per liter and has been increasing on a yearly basis. Expect to pay 500 AED to 700 AED only for Helium.

    • Students are expected to arrange Hotel accommodation for the instructor should the course requires an overnight stay, which is the case when done over a weekend. Expect around 400 AED for the night.

    • Dive operators are charging 300 AED to 500 AED per diver for a 2 tank dive trip.

    • Classroom booking can be up to 300 AED per day but in some cases, it is given for free, subject to the dive operator
