Driving directions Dubai - Dibba

Since the recent opening of the new road linking Emirates Road to the RAK - Dhaid Road, the easiest and fastest way of getting from Dubai to Dibba is as follows (time lapsed is measured from Defence Roundabout, Dubai on a day with light traffic, staying within speed limits and may vary):

Join Emirates Road anywhere in Dubai and drive towards Ras Al Khaimah.

Last fuel before Dibba is at the Emarat station at Tasjeel Auto Village, shortly after the Sharjah Airport exit (time lapsed 00:20)

After Umm al Quwain, turn off Emirates Road at exit 119 and drive east, towards Dibba. Exit 119 is approx 10 minutes after Dreamland exit (time lapsed 00:50)

The road will cut straight through the desert (go straight through one r/a approx halfway) until you meet the RAK - Dhaid road. Here, go straight through the r/a again and join the road leading through the mountains.

At the end of the mountain road, you will find a big r/a - take the last exit and drive straight into Dibba.

Arrive at Dibba (time lapsed 01:30)

At Dibba you can then either head down the coast (towards Khor Fakkan) or up the coast (Musandam).

This is by far the easiest route if you diving Musandam from Dibba or around Al Aqah. If going to Khor Fakkan or Fujeirah, it may not be the best - please check with the local diving operators there.

Good tips when driving

- Leave Dubai will a full tank of fuel and the car well stocket with snacks and supplies for the trip.

- There are not much in the way of toilet facilites along this route, so go before you go!

- Assume that all other drivers will show a complete disregard for other road users and for other peoples safety (because most other drivers WILL show a complete disregard for you and for your safety.. sad but true)

Remember; "There is no such thing as a high speed car chase in the UAE - everyone drivers like that"
