Diving in Khasab
Khasab is located on the West side of the Musandam peninsula, very close to the Straits of Hormuz.

Situated only 3 hours drive from Dubai, Khasab is the ideal staging point to explore and dive the northern part of Musandam.

As far as we are aware, there is only one divecenter operating in Khasab at present. The manager is Tom Adriaens and their contact details are:
Extra Divers Khasab

Accommodation
The Extra Divers Villa
The Extra Divers villais a big villa just out of the town center and strategically between the town center and the harbor with 6 big double rooms with toilet and small bath and shower. We will be offering bed and breakfast and will try to organize a barbeque once a week and other evening activities. In Khasab town there are several good and very cheap restaurants and I know from at least one that does home delivery, the villa also has a central kitchen which the guest are welcome to use should they decide to cook for themselves. It is an excellent opportunity for divers that do not want to spend a lot of money, diving groups and people that simply enjoy a more quite environment with other divers

Dive Site Info
Below, please find site info for the most popular dive sites around Khasab.
Abu Sir Island & Coral Garden
Eagle bay & coral garden get their name from their colourful assortment of corals and fish life . Eagle bay is on the Westside of the island & coral on the Southside of the island . Both these sites are very relaxed dive sites with vast amounts of coral & tropical fish but far greater than falcon Rock. One will also see on the coral gardens lion fish, painted spiny lobster & on rare occasions maybe feather tail stingray.
Falcon Rock
Falcon Rock got its name from the rock feature above water in the rock face. Lots of local fish like angel fish, banner fish, butterfly fish & trigger fish etc. Plenty of coral like brain coral, fan coral & yellow weaver coral. Plenty of swim troughs with depths for all levels.
Pipi Beach
This is a very pleasant dive site to do, which starts with us dropping you off in front of the beach and we then head off in a North Easterly direction where the contrast is that of sandy areas with hard coral on rock out crops. We follow the coast line on our right hand side and as we follow the coast line into a South Easterly direction
Rachid Island
This island is about 1 hr by ExtraDiver 1 & drift dives can normally be encountered ,depending on the tide times etc . On The Eastside however is relatively calm in comparison to the Southwest - Southeast side. All the local fish can be seen, like parrot fish, banner fish, trigger fish & many species of basslet fish. The under water scenery is of ledge drop offís, covered in many varieties of coral. The depths drop gradual down to around 20 - 25 meters with the ledges offering various depths for all levels. At this part of the dive there is a abundant amount of Raspberry coral, mixed with rocks covered in other hard coral with sandy patches. Along this part of the dive, spiny lobster can be seen from within the ledges & on occasion one can see green turtles swimming by . As one moves round to the East side of the island ,one encounters fields of soft brown coral on very gentle slops
Ras Sharykh Masud
This site starts quite shallow to begin with, until we venture deeper, We begin by going in a Westerly direction and after about 20 - 25 minutes into the dive, we head South - Southwest. Similar to Ras Youssuf in contrast but far more littered with rock outcrops. Life to be seen here is of moray eels, porcupine fish, bat fish, Arabian cleaner wrasse, parrot fish & Arabian butterfly fish etc. One may have the rare chance of seeing pods of Arabian humpback dolphins but only if you keep your eyes out & fingers crossed. Painted spiny lobster may also be seen as well on this dive
